Jumia Chic Launch Event with a Hint of Tribal

The international e-commerce company Jumia has launched a new fashion blog in Egypt called "Jumia Chic" in a fabulous-light event. Inviting a small yet powerful mix of Egypt's fashionistas, media and bloggers; this event was truly chic. The entire mood was elevated by the beautiful setting of The Lemon tree & Co at Zamalek.

I barely made it on time after a disastrous fashion emergency. I had a wooden tribal necklace from South Africa that I never wore before. I thought it would add a little something to my pastel mix of an outfit. It worked perfectly and I was really excited about the whole get-up. I was just about to head out, took one final look in the mirror -always do that!- and suddenly the necklace fell down to pieces!!

After a very dramatic kneel & collect maneuver I was able to get my sh*t together and stitched the pieces of the necklace. After I arrived at the Lemon Tree, it fell again at the bathroom and I had to glue it into the collar to make sure it doesn't fall again in the middle of the event.

Tip: Adding a little accessory goes a long way - long as it doesn't fall to pieces.
Despite all the delay I was able to fulfill my duty and record a video which will soon be up on Jumiachic.com with some of the best fashionistas at the event. We talked about what they're wearing, shared some style tips and had fun! So make sure to check the blog for the video.
