Black & Gold At the Second Jumiaversary

For two years now, Jumia has stayed right on track with the fashionable crowd in Cairo. The e-commerce magnate definitely cemented their leading status when it comes to online shopping. Not just that but the brand has infiltrated the fashion industry starting with their one year anniversary spectacular event, launching the Jumia Chic blog and just yesterday with their second year anniversary.
Topman top & jeans, Zara sleeveless top, Guess boots, accessories from Asos
The invitation promised guests a night full of fun, surprises and celebration. And in typical Jumia fashion, they were able to deliver their promise. I have to say that the location was right on point with the trendiest places as well as historical significance; The Mena House Hotel. The beautiful Le Jardin was all lit up with a cat walk in the middle of the pool. High tables and bars were set on the right and a gorgeous view of the pyramids -which were specially lit up for the event- gave the event the right amount of flair!

I really liked how the guest list was carefully selected and that in turn didn't cause an over-crowded event. The crowd mingled, enjoyed the fashion shows (by Vero Moda, Jack & Jones and Jumia's private label Agu), the delicious hors d'oeuvres and champagne! However, the fashion show was not the highlight of the evening. The screens behind the models were too bright to allow the clothes to show well. Also the models lacked life. Even though the show was done with dance movements, the models looked more robotic than energetic.

For the most part, the event was successful and everybody seemed to really enjoy it. Good job to all the team who worked hard on this event! Happy Birthday Jumia! Xx
